Melandri rises to the double as the KRT duo clashes in race 1.
For the first time in history the Sepang International Circuit hosted an event of the eni FIM Superbike World Championship.
The impressive Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur were the stage for Thursday’s traditional Media Event, with multiple MotoGP Champion Mick Doohan as guest star. Sylvain Guintoli claimed Pole Position after a heavily contested Tissot-Superpole as Tom Sykes and Davide Giugliano completed the front row.
Despite the starting position on the grid, Marco Melandri put in place two incredible recoveries to cross the line a lonely winner in race 1 and race 2, both times ahead of teammate Guintoli.
Michael van der Mark snatched once again the victory in WSS by edging out Jules Cluzel, with Sofuoglu third at the line ahead of an impressive Roberto Rolfo.
